Heidi and Jordyn

The other day, Everson and I were playing and I asked if he wanted to have a friend over. He turned his head to look at me, smiled, and then said, Heidi. His smile got even bigger and then he said Jordyn. It was so cute! So we called up Heidi and Jordyn to set up a day for them to come play. Everson was so sweet to Jordyn. He made sure she had toys to play with and put pillows all around her to keep her safe so she wouldn't fall over. Canon also was in awe of this new body on our home that was his size. They had a great time playing together! Heidi and I of course got to relax a little bit and catch up with each other. Everson has already asked me if Heidi and Jordyn could come over and play again! We love them!

I LOVE the middle picture of Canon and Jordyn. Heidi tried feeding Jordyn some baby food. You can be the judge. Did she like it?
And of course, the day would not have been complete without Everson and his prize winning smile! Whenever we ask him to smile, that is the face we get! I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything!

Landscapers

Todd enlisted Everson's help for planting plants around our house. Everson loved digging in the dirt with his small shovel and having Daddy use the big shovel. He'll do anything to hang out with his Daddy!

Digging the hole and planting the first plant.

Inka Binka...

I taught Everson the fun little hand game we all use to do ages ago. Inka Binka bottle of ink, cork fell out and you stink! He thought it was hilarious. Of course he did not get the concept of going back and forth between our two hands. He would just repeatedly hit my fist so I was always the one that stinks, which is the part he thinks is so funny! Now, out of no where, he will come running over to me and want to sing me the little rhyme, then run away laughing hysterically!

Teething!

Canon is finally getting his first tooth. I am definitely not complaining that he was a late bloomer, since I am still nursing him, but he has been practically begging to eat regular food. It is so sad to be feeding him his pureed baby food, when what he really wants to eat is a juicy bite of steak that the rest of us were having for dinner. I know this tiny little tooth shouldn't make that big of a difference, but for some reason I am now less nervous to give him our table food. That is the good part about him teething. The bad, cutting this tooth really affected his sleeping. He woke up every two to three hours for almost a week straight, which pretty much kicked my butt. I was a walking zombie. Poor Everson had a Mom with no energy for a few days. Good news though, he is back on track sleeping through the night. Hooray! His second tooth will be making an appearance any day now.

He was not thrilled that I was trying to get a picture of his tooth.

Our friends Paige and Emily!

Our friend Paige came over with Emily, a cute little girl she takes care of. Emily was so cute and she and Everson played so well together. We loved having them over!

Emily also loved Canon and could make him smile so big.
Giving Canon a goodbye hug!

Cutest?

Canon is finally cutting his first tooth. It is one of his bottom middle teeth. Cutting teeth did not affect Everson in the least bit. You would have never known he was teething. Canon is opposite. During the day he is a good, but at night, the kid wakes up every couple hours at least. I have been use to sleeping through the night for a while, so waking up every couple hours to calm a crying baby kicked my butt. I know it is not his fault, so I can't don't get mad at him. What makes me mad is thinking of Todd peacefully sleeping in our bed while I am doing laps around the living room trying to get Canon back to sleep. I should wear a pedometer just to make things interesting. It is hard to be mad at Canon for interrupting one of my most favorite things to do, sleep. I think it is those big brown eyes that just melt my heart. I know I am bias, but I think Canon is one of the cutest, if not the cutest baby ever! Just look at that face. Who could get mad at him?

TV junkies

The boys love to watch TV in the mornings before breakfast. Everson used to like Blues Clues, but now his two favorites are, Bear In The Big Blue House and Dora the Explorer. Canon could care less what is on the TV, as long as his brother is there with him.

Snuggling with Dad

Everson is definitely not a snuggler, he never has been. So, when he voluntarily laid down on Todd while watching TV, I had to get it on camera because nobody would believe us if we didn't have proof. He snuggled his Daddy for a good 20 minutes. Maybe someday I'll get 20 minutes of snuggling from him!

Hidden Talent

Everson decided that it is more fun to drink his juice without using any of his hands. We are not sure where he first learned this or saw this, but he does it daily. I guess it was just a hidden talent waiting to come out.
