That's gonna leave a mark!

While Todd was playing basketball he got a should to the chin, which made him bite his tongue pretty hard. He said it hurt and it was bleeding but he didn't think much of it. Then he looked in the mirror and saw this (see picture below). Todd had bit his tongue so hard that he split it and now has a nubbin just hanging there. We were told by a very reliable source, Dr. Atack, that it most likely will not heal back together, so unless Todd wants it dangling there forever, he will have to get it numbed up and snipped off. Ouch!

Jedi Training

Once Bridger showed interest in wanting to be a Jedi the boys took it upon themselves to make Bridger their Padwan (Jedi Apprentice).

Canon, showing Bridger how to fight like a Jedi.
Everson underestimated Bridger's Jedi skills and found himself at the mercy of his baby brother. Don't worry, Everson was a smart thinker and used the force to get away and retrieve his lightsaber.

Everson's Pictures

Everson loves to take pictures. He is turning into quite the photographer.

Taking pictures of his favorite person to play with!
Everson loves dinosaurs, so why not take a bunch of pictures of them. We were very impressed with his ability to take a self portrait.
Everson was very thorough in taking pictures of pretty much everything he could see from the living room.

Silly Faces

For the first few pictures I thought Everson and Canon were smiling, but boy was I wrong. Instead of trying to get them to make nice smiling faces, which is sometimes impossible, I joined them in making silly faces!

Cold Stone

Even though it is winter and cold outside, doesn't mean you have to give up ice cream. We called up Todd's parents and invited them to go with us to Cold Stone for some yummy ice cream. It was so good and the boys loved it!

Volleyball Tournament

I was so excited, and I admit, a little nervous to play in a coed volleyball tournament that my brother in-law, Scott, invited me to play in with him and a team he put together. I haven't played competitively in years. The teams we played against were really good. Throwing six people on the court who have never played together made things interesting our first game. We got better each game, but some of the coed rules gave some people on our team some trouble. Yes, we lost every game, but it was fun to get out there and play competitively again.

Me, Scott and Carin after losing all our games. Smiles on our faces because we still had fun!

More Bridger

Bridger having so much fun shooting the basketball with Todd. He loves it when he gets to do things the big boys do.

Bridger was very curious about these magnets that his brother were playing with so we let him have at them. He loved pulling them apart and putting them back together. They kept him entertained for a while.

Snowing

We had to get outside fast before the snow melted away. The boys really wanted to build a snowman, so out they went right after breakfast with Todd.

Building a snowman with Daddy!
Snowball fight with Dad!
The boys couldn't let the snow melt without eating some and having a snowball fight of their own after Todd left for work.
It didn't last very long, but my boys loved being out there even if it was just for a short time.

Ouch!

I picked Everson up from Preschool today and like always he immediately starts running down the sidewalk to the car. I holler at him to either slow down or run in the grass, which I do every day, so I know he has heard me say it. Before I know it, he trips and slides face first on the sidewalk, then Canon who is running after him trips over Everson's feet and falls on the hard sidewalk also. Keep in mind I am carrying Bridger and now I have two boys crying on the ground, one of which is bleeding from somewhere, either the mouth or nose or both. There was too much blood I couldn't tell. Trying not to make a big deal about it, I tell them both they are fine and to just get in the car. Knowing very well that Everson would freak if he saw himself in the mirror, dripping blood, I instruct him to go straight upstairs when we get home and sit on the couch. Canon by now is fine with no scrapes. Once home, I get Everson cleaned up and calmed down and laying on the couch. Canon apparently cannot stand the site of blood so whenever he saw Everson's face he squinched up his face and ran upstairs. He would come down every once in a while to see how things were going, but was very worried about Everson's face. You would think that Everson's face would be hurting and throbbing, but to my surprise, and after laying on the couch for 20 minutes with a wash cloth on his face, he starts crying again and tells me his face doesn't hurt, but his knee does. I hadn't checked the knee, so expecting another bloody wound under his pants I roll his pant leg up to find the smallest little scrape that I thought couldn't possibly hurt worse then his face. Boy was I wrong. The rest of the day, he was babying his knee so much and didn't complain about his face once.

Once Canon got over the fear of seeing Everson's tainted face, he wanted in on the photo shoot too.

I have wonderful friends!

We had just gotten the kids in bed and I was just about to get ready to take a shower when I hear a knock at my door. Not knowing who it could be I try looking through the peep hole, but found it was being covered up. So, I slowly open the door and then hear, "SURPRISE!" Some of my wonderful friends had come to whisk me away to happy hour to celebrate my 30th birthday! It was a great surprise. I can no longer say I am twenty something. I had such a fun time with these ladies. If this is what 30 is going to be like, I am all for it!
